First Post

This is going to be a blog spot for our family tree. All of the information was put together with a lot of research put into it.

  1. Wonderful to find this 'blog spot' about our Carter Kinfolk. I'm the gal who bought my 5th great-grandfather's house, ye ol' Solomon Carter House in Duplin County, NC. It was built in 1768, and let's just say it needs a lot of work. But a full restoration is what I'm aiming for. To help in this effort, I started a non-profit called The Cool Water Historic Foundation, Inc. Please visit the site at www.coolwaterfoundation.org
Anyone who would like to help in any way to accomplish this restoration, whether it be with expertise or donations, it will be put to great use. I am in the process of applying for the property to be put on the National Register of Historic Places. This upcoming year will be very exciting for Cool Water so keep checking in. Once complete, the old house will be used as a museum, a meeting place for the local population - and a great site for blue grass concerts! It will no doubt be a local source of pride for the lovely agricultural community of Albertson. Anyone who would like to write me may do so at cindy@coolwaterfoundation.org
And please keep sharing information about your ancestors, it will help everyone. Yours sincerely, Cindy Carter Hite
